Celebrating Cultural Heritage
February is Black History Month—and what better time is there than this, to reflect on the wonderful ways that different races have helped to shape America? Indeed, without the thoughts, efforts, and influence of the many African-Americans who have lived throughout history, the United States would not be what it is today.
This month, Adoption Associates, Inc. honors this part of America’s cultural heritage and asks families to learn more about AAI’s African-American domestic infant program. Adoptive families are urgently needed!
Also this month, read about one family that adopted two young children from Ethiopia—and what family members learned on their journey. When strangers ask the mother of this family whether her two children by adoption are “real siblings,” she responds by stating what every adoptive family seamlessly understands: “They are now!”
