Celebrating Cultural Heritage

February is Black History Month—and what better time is there than this, to reflect on the wonderful ways that different races have helped to shape America? Indeed, without the thoughts, efforts, and influence of the many African-Americans who have lived throughout history, the United States would not be what it is today.

Affording Adoption

Families in search of a loan to fund their adoption process can now take advantage of a new option through America’s Christian Credit Union. With a strong belief in helping Christian families, the mission of ACCU has been, for more than 50 years, to “reach, serve and teach.” Adoption loans for up to $50,000 are available to eligible families.

Domestic Adoption

If you’ve been thinking about adopting domestically for the first time—or about pursuing another domestic infant adoption—now is a great time to get started with AAI! With fewer families on the waiting list than most any other time, a family’s profile can typically be shown to birth mothers more frequently, increasing your chances of a quicker adoption process.

International Adoption

When Steve and Nikki began pursuing adoption in the spring of 2007, they knew only two things: one, that they wanted to adopt children from Africa; and two, that they could expect a wait. With support from their church family and strong faith in God, the two began a journey that took much longer than they had expected. Yet through it all, they knew that they were willing to wait as long as it would take for God to lead them to the children that were meant for their family.

For those currently considering adoption, our domestic African-American infant program is greatly in need of families, and for those open to an older child or a child with special medical needs, our Waiting Children programs may be just what you’ve been looking for.

And as we make our way into 2010, we thank our donors for their support last year—and encourage them to continue supporting our mission of uniting children with their forever families! Our fundraising events are all about our supporters, so we always encourage your ideas. You can also support AAI by using Goodsearch when searching online, or by using Goodshop when shopping online. Michigan residents can also support the agency by shopping at D&W supermarkets during designated weeks in February and April.

Here at Adoption Associates, Inc., we’re celebrating our 20th anniversary in 2010! We’d love for you to be a part of the special events planned for this significant year. We recognize that we wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for you, the supporters and families of AAI—so we want to hear from you! Also this year, we’ll be looking forward to the 2010 Change a Life—Change the World banquet (and thanking you for the success of the 2009 banquet), expanding fundraising efforts for orphanages in Ethiopia, and gathering suggestions for our June golf outing or walk/run.
