Donation Opportunities
Thank you volunteers and supporters!
Adoption Associates, Inc. would like to thank its many volunteers and supporters—without your help, we couldn’t create the forever families that bring lifelong happiness to both children and parents around the world. Following are just a few examples of recent generous gifts of time and money:
In March, a wonderful group of families attended the AAI fundraising night in Jenison, Michigan, at Culver’s restaurant, with a percentage of sales from the evening donated to AAI. In April, volunteers made phone calls to past adoptive families who received the fundraising letter mailed out in March. As a result of the letter sent out in March from Dick VanDeelen, President of the Board of Directors, many donations were received. Lastly—but certainly not least—Realtors have recently partnered with AAI and are making financial contributions as a result of each home sale closing that they complete (view our new Realtor Partner Program page for more information about this program). An enormous and heartfelt thank you is granted to all!
Volunteer opportunities
As a nonprofit organization, AAI holds many fresh opportunities for volunteer assistance. If you have been touched by adoption or have a heart for what we do, please consider lending some of your time to (or financially supporting) a few of our programs.
Upcoming volunteer opportunities include a “Haircut and a Car Wash” fundraiser on August 15 from 10am to 3pm at all three Holland, Michigan Quality Car Wash locations (15 volunteers are needed at each location). Have fun with your family on this day! Live music, kids’ activities, inexpensive food, and good times are in store. Holland hair salons will be donating their time as well, and all proceeds of the $10 haircuts offered will be donated to AAI. Volunteers will pump gas, vacuum vehicles, and assist with a car washes. Join in!
Ongoing opportunities include the open position of a volunteer coordinator, needed to help oversee the newly-created volunteer programs at AAI, and between 6 and 8 volunteer positions open for the planning teams of 2009 fundraising events.

Upcoming fundraising events
An exciting lineup of fundraising events is in store for 2009! On Saturday, August 15, the “Haircut and a Car Wash” fundraiser will take place; in September, a golf fundraiser will encourage supporters to tee off to a good cause. Coffee & Dessert Nights are being planned in the Grand Rapids, Lansing, and Detroit, Michigan areas, for which hosts are needed. If you are willing to host this casual informational meeting in your home, please call 616.667.0677. Other fantastic fundraisers—with specific dates to be announced soon—include West Michigan’s Longest Banana Split/Family Fun Day, an open house at Adoption Associates, and a silent and live auction fundraiser.
