The Joy of Adoption
Working in adoption, I sometimes hear prospective adoptive parents question whether they will love an adopted child as much as a child born to them. After adopting, these couples find that they love all of their children unconditionally—whether they came to them by birth or adoption. In addition, while some might say that an adopted child is fortunate because he or she has been saved from a hopeless future, most adoptive parents consider themselves the fortunate ones because they have the privilege of loving and raising these children. And they see this love returned to them on a daily basis. This love is part of the true joy of adoption.
