Meet Ming Hua He at Informal Open House
Ming Hua He, AAI’s China program coordinator, is coming to West Michigan, and we’re offering AAI families an opportunity to meet her! On Thursday, May 3, 2007, Ming will meet with current clients and families with children home from 2:00pm to 4:30pm during an informal open house at AAI’s Jenison location. You’ll be able to ask Ming questions and meet other adoptive families.

Build a Bear for a Child in Need of a Family
On Saturday, May 19th, bring your family to your local Build-A-Bear Workshop and participate in Stuffed with Hugs: Hugs Sweet Hugs. You’ll be able to make a bear, free of charge, for a child in need of a family and celebrate the joy of adoption at the same time. The bears that are made will be given to children throughout the U.S. and around the world.
Please visit www.buildabear.com/aboutUs/contactUs/findastore/ to find a Build-A-Bear Workshop near you, or download a flyer for more information.
Online Form Now Available for Child Sponsorship
AAI has now made it easier for you to sponsor a child in need in Ethiopia or Nepal.
Simply visit our child sponsorship news item to sign up online. You’ll be able to choose the age range and gender of the child you are sponsoring, as well as the country in which he or she lives. Then, for only $25 a month, you will provide this child with food, clothing, medical care, and continued schooling.
Over 150 children in Ethiopia and Nepal are eagerly awaiting your help.

Golf Marathon Update
AAI’s first annual golf marathon will occur on Monday, May 14 at The Meadows Golf Club in Allendale, MI.
Eighteen golfers are currently signed up to play over 100 holes of golf during this marathon. Each golfer has been working diligently to raise $2,500 in pledges to benefit orphans worldwide. However, many of these golfers are still in need of donations to meet their goal.
If you are interested in sponsoring a golfer or contributing to this event, please e-mail Tom Gill at tgill@adoptionassociates.net.
For more information on the golf marathon, please visit the Golf Marathon page.
Help Share the Joy of Adoption with Your Church Family
New to AAI are adoption resource packets specifically designed for churches, and we need your help in making sure that your church receives one. Each resource packet contains information about the services that AAI provides for birth mothers and adoptive parents. We suggest that a resource packet be given to the pastor of your church for his personal use and an additional packet be placed in a resource center or another prominent location where church members can see it.
To order an adoption resource packet for your church, please download and complete the resource packet order form.
Thank you for your help in spreading the word about adoption!
Schedule a Room for One More Presentation at Your Church
AAI’s Room for One More program promotes Ethiopian and Nepalese adoption as well as the sponsorship of orphaned and destitute children, the financial support of orphanages, and the formation of adoption assistance funds in churches to help families with adoption expenses.
If you would like to share AAI’s Room for One More program with your church, please contact Jamie Huizen at 616.667.0677 to schedule a free presentation.
For more information on this program, please visit our Room for One More web page.
New Journal Themes Now Available
Families creating an online international adoption journal through AAI now have more themes to choose from for their background!
These country-specific themes feature children’s artwork created with various types of artistic mediums. Whether your background includes Chinese ladybugs, an Ethiopian sunset, or the pattern from a Guatemalan textile, your adoption journal will have an international flair that will give you and others a taste of the country’s culture from a child’s perspective. What better way to make your child’s journey home memorable!
Looking for additional options for your journal theme? Generic backgrounds and themes featuring international artifacts are also available, and more new themes will be available for your use in the near future.
AAI’s journal program is free to interested families. If you’re interested in starting your journal today, visit www.adoptionjournals.org, or ask your international consultant for more information.
