Detroit Shock Day
We are excited to announce a very special event happening soon! AAI is teaming up with the WNBA’s Detroit Shock to sponsor “Home Court Advantage.” This event is intended to celebrate and honor those people who make a difference in the lives of adopted and foster children!
This event will take place Saturday, June 24 at the Palace in Detroit. The game starts at 12pm, but the special “Shockfest” will begin at 10:30am in the Palace parking lot. This time will include games for the kids, special speakers, and events to help raise money for local foster care.
AAI, along with other Michigan adoption agencies and the Detroit Shock, hope that this event will help raise awareness for domestic infant, foster, and international adoption.
Tickets will be available at the discounted price of $10 for adoptive families and their children. Download a ticket order form and flyer.
If you are interested and have questions, feel free to contact Amber Smith at 616.667.0677.
To reserve seats, or if you have any additional questions, feel free to contact Jenny Smith at the Detroit Shock at 248.377.8742.
We hope that this event can be exciting and memorable for you and your family. Join AAI and the Detroit Shock as we celebrate adoption.
See you at the game!
Russia Waiting Children
Hundreds of children in Russian orphanages wait patiently every day to find out when it is their turn to be loved by a family. One of them may just be waiting for you…
Dozens of children are glued to the orphanage window—excited, crowded, each one trying to push the other to be able to get just one glimpse of the street.
The care givers comment with a smile: they are all waiting for their mom to come and pick them up..every day…they wait.
When you enter an orphanage, the children cling to your legs, hug you, stare into your eyes: Are you MY mom?? Are you here for ME?
Families are desperately needed for these children in Russia. Most of the children are healthy, but special needs children are also waiting. If you or someone you know is interested in adopting an older child from Russia, please contact Annise at 616.667.0921 for more information.
They are waiting for you…
