Call to Action for Positive Russian Adoption Stories
April 14, 2010
The heartbreak of Russian child Artyem Saviliev’s abandonment has once again elevated a single incident to a level which jeopardizes the future of intercountry adoptions. Adoption Associates is participating in a call-to-action campaign from the Joint Council on International Adoption (JCICS) encouraging adoptees, adoptive parents, adoptive grandparents, child welfare professionals and child advocates to
- sign a letter to the Presidents of Russia and the U.S. to ensure that intercountry adoption continues uninterrupted and
- that families “share the truth” through email, blogging, Facebook, YouTube, etc. of their positive Russian adoption stories.
Note: The opportunity to participate in this call to action has passed.
