AAI Holds Open House for Russian Official

On Thursday, March 30, 2006, Adoption Associates, Inc. hosted an open house in Jenison for Valery Nuromsky, Minister of Education in the Arkhangelsk Region of Russia. Mr. Nuromsky was present to visit with adoptive families and their children now home from Russia.
Over 85 parents and children attended the open house and were able to visit with Mr. Nuromsky and his wife. Mr. Nuromsky was also able to spend some time with the AAI international staff and discuss the future of international adoption in Russia.
Recently the news has been filled with negative stories about adoption. However, what people forget is that U.S. citizens adopt thousands of children every year. The vast majority of these cases are successful and children who would otherwise not have a home are welcomed with open arms into a loving family.
