Tod and Cindy
Gosh, I say this with tears in my eyes, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!! Katie is a dream come true—a blessing from God. The empty place in our hearts was filled from the moment that we saw her picture—from the moment we knew that she was meant to be ours. Our stay at La Casa Grande was the best place to be for our bonding process to begin. One night Katie and I were out prowling the hallways and we heard the hymn “Nearer My God to Thee” coming from a local Spanish church. We even met a wonderful couple our age from Chicago who were in Guatemala to pick up their son. We still keep in touch through photos and e-mails.
Katie has become quite a charmer, from the older congregation members at our church to “Katie’s Fan Club,” a group of teenage girls that I teach who ask about how she is doing (and when we might need a babysitter). One church where Tod pastored even volunteered to write Tod’s payment to Katie’s “college fund”.
We have been told repeatedly by others, “Whomever was your Katie’s foster mom gave her a wonderful start with everything that she did.” We could not agree more. Katie is very alert, communicative, and easy-going.
Again, we have been so blessed by AAI. We hope to work with you again in the near future. Thank you so very much.
