Upon our decision to adopt, we did some Internet research of adoption agencies and made several phone calls. After one phone conversation with Adoption Associates, Inc. (AAI), we were convinced they were right for us. Their firsthand knowledge of the adoption process and willingness to provide information calmed our concerns of a journey into something new and life changing. AAI offered valuable advice, efficiency with our paperwork, and was always quick in responding to questions (even when we called and e-mailed while in China).
After having two biological children, we decided as a family to adopt a toddler with special needs. We became confident in adopting from China because they have a reliable, reputable, and well-defined process. We chose a child with a special need that both of us were confident we could provide the required medical attention and emotional support for (but also understanding, just as with having a biological child, you never really know all the facts).
Once we met our son and brought him home, all the research, paperwork, and long waiting were replaced by a joyful, curious, and loving little boy! Ryan Tian attached to us immediately, was clearly well cared for and nurtured by his foster family, and was healthy emotionally and physically. He has thrived while being with us, and we have equally gained from the experience. We now have three wonderful children…each unique in their own way!
