Madelyn home from China 11/03
In February, 2000, we turned in our application to Adoption Associates, Inc., starting the journey to our little daughter in China. It was a long and somewhat complicated process, but Adoption Associates was there for us every step of the way.
We received the referral for our baby in July, 2001. Her name was Li Yue Huan, and she was waiting for us in Anhui Province, near Hefei. We were scheduled to leave on September 16, 2001. When the September 11 attacks occurred, not only were we shocked and mourning like everyone else, but we were extremely stressed about our impending trip to China (and didn’t even know for sure if we would be able to go as scheduled). The people at AAI were such a calming influence for us those few days before travel, and we’ll always be grateful for that. We did get to leave as scheduled.
On September 19, 2001, we received our little 10–month–old Josie. Our two older children were with us, and our two weeks in China as a family will always be a treasured memory.
When we arrived home, our consultant Mary was there to greet us at the airport, along with some other friends and family members. We couldn’t be happier with how it has all worked out. In fact, we adopted a second daughter from China, Madelyn, in 2003. Thank you, Adoption Associates Inc., for helping us to complete our family through the wonder of adoption.
