Frank and Debbie
Elizabeth home from China 1/06
Similar to many, our journey to adoption has had several parts to it. After getting married later in life, experiencing infertility struggles, and adopting a seven year old daughter who needed very skilled care due to past trauma, we were not sure if adopting again was in God’s plan for us. Yet it was always on our minds and children were truly in our hearts.
One day while driving in the car, Frank said, “Debbie, I think we should face our fears and questions about adoption and at least check into it.” In April of 2003, we attended an informational meeting at Adoption Associates, Inc. From the very beginning, we could tell each person we came into contact with from AAI was truly committed to uniting these precious children with families that would love them forever. On the way home from that meeting, we both knew we would be adopting a daughter from China.
On September 22, 2004 we arrived home with Hannah, ten months old, to a group of family and friends, including our consultant, Michelle.
Hannah is now three years old and brings joy and adventure to our lives. She is truly a blessing…as is her sister, Elizabeth! She joined our family on January 10, 2006 and is now two years old. We are truly blessed because of these precious girls. It is wonderful to watch the growing bond between them.
We are very thankful for the staff at AAI and all of their help along the way—they will always be very special to us.
We don’t know what God has planned to grow our family more, but we do know our hearts are open to what He has down the road. We always wondered what it would be like to give birth. Now in our hearts, we know.
