Thank you for taking the time to look over our profile. We are Pat and Miranda. We have known each other for fourteen years and have been married for eight years. Hopefully the next few pages will convey to you that we are an adventurous, fun-loving, and family-oriented couple. We came to the decision of adoption as a way to grow our family after struggles with infertility. We often say that infertility was the best thing to ever happen to us because though the adoption process we now have a beautiful daughter. We feel very fortunate that we are able to experience the joys of starting and extending our family though adoption. We would not be able to do this without you. Through choosing adoption we feel you have made a very courageous and unselfish decision that is an ultimate gift of love for your child. For that, we will forever be grateful. Your baby will always know what an amazing person you are to us.
About Us
We met through mutual friends our freshman year at Central Michigan University and have been inseparable ever since. Together we enjoy cooking, being outdoors, camping, boating, backyard barbeques and bonfires with family, friends, and neighbors. We love to travel! Anything from international adventures to sticking close to home and exploring our great state. We enjoy discovering new places and meeting new people. Through our infertility experience, hurdles of the adoption process, and the joys of raising a daughter together, our relationship has only grown stronger. We feel that together we can get through anything. We have a wonderful life. We feel blessed everyday that we have each other and our family. We can’t wait to share this life with your child.
About Pat (written by Miranda)
I feel so lucky to be married to Pat. He is my best friend and biggest supporter. We share so many of the same values, desires, and beliefs. Together we have our dreams—those we have seen come true and those we’re looking forward to. Looking back fourteen years ago, I couldn’t have imagined all the twist and turns our life together would take. I look forward to sharing life’s twists and turns for many, many more years to come. Words that come to mind when I think of my husband are thoughtful, kind, loving, outgoing, patient, gentle, easy going, hard working, and funny. Pat and I have had many amazing life experiences together, but I must say having the opportunity to parent a child with my husband has been the best thing we have ever done together. I have an amazing partnership with him in this journey of parenthood. He makes me proud every day. Watching him be a daddy to our daughter Ava melts my heart. He is such a hands-on father whose “girls” always come first. Pat’s job as a Physician Assistant allows him an unique opportunity not many fathers get. He works three to four days a week at the local community hospital in the emergency room. This allows him to be able to spend lots of time with our daughter. Since we both work, this kind of schedule is ideal for raising a family and it allows one of us to be home with our child most days of the work week.
About Miranda (written by Pat)
When I think of Miranda the first words that come to mind are fun, loving, and adventurous. She has unconditional love for myself and all family. She is adventurous in all aspects of life, she loves to travel, camp, boat, fish and do almost anything outdoors. My wife is my best friend and greatest confidant. Throughout our fourteen year journey we have had the chance to experience many different and exciting opportunities. I can only imagine what the future will bring and cannot wait for the many new experiences with my wife and family. We have worked hard to make our home and will continue to strive to make our dreams together a reality. Miranda and I have had the greatest enjoyment and fulfillment brought to our lives through our daughter Ava. Miranda is the greatest mom in the world. She is patient, kind, thoughtful, compassionate and fun. She enjoys teaching Ava about the world around her and always has a smile on her face. Miranda is a preschool teacher and enjoys meeting all of her students needs emotionally and educationally. She is exceptional at her job and uses these skills at home also. Miranda grew up with very loving parents and is very close to her only sister. She puts her family first and I look forward to coming home to her every night.
Our Home, Neighborhood, and Family
We feel fortunate to live in a small lake community. We absolute love where we live. We have a great house, nestled in three acres of woods and yet it is still a short walk away from the lake and our boat dock. We live on a quiet street and enjoy bike rides, walks, swimming at the beach, and play dates with the neighborhood children. We couldn’t ask for a better, more family friendly community to live in and your child will grow up surrounded by wonderful family, friends, fun, and love. We are very close to our immediate and extended families. We spend lots of time with them including holidays, special celebrations, and are always looking for a reason to get together. We both come from small, tight-knit, loving families. Even though we live about two hours from both sets of grandparents, we rarely go longer than a month without seeing them. Our families have embraced our decision to adopt. Ava receives so much love from our family and they are a huge part of her life.
